Our intention
It’s our intention to make our courses accessible as possible for anyone who wants to attend, while balancing the realities of operating an honest business.
We aspire to create a learning environment that honors the traditional lineage and practice of Yoga and celebrates personal growth, diversity, and respect for learning. As a small and intimate school, it is important that both students and staff understand expectations and policies to promote a harmonious and successful working environment.
Rules for Student Conduct
Students must be on time for all classes and are expected to stay for the full duration of class unless excused by the director.
All unexcused absences or time missed must be made up in person in a future session unless other arrangements are agreed upon with the instructor.
Students must show courtesy and respect to staff and fellow students and honor the learning environment. They are to come prepared for practice, properly dressed, with all necessary supplies and will be expected to participate and engage with the class fully. Students are expected to teach in all practicums in order to graduate.
Cell phones are not allowed to be used or turned-on during classes or lectures unless permission if given by the instructor (such as to capture a posture demonstration or sequence.)
Food is not permitted to be eaten during movement or meditation courses.
Any grievances with students will be addressed with the school director and a mediator and documented for integrity. (see grievance polity below)
Rules for Staff Conduct
Staff and Faculty will arrive 15 minutes prior to all class times and will end each session on time as scheduled. On the rare occasion a faculty member is late for arrival or dismissal, students will be excused from any missed time and are not required to stay for additional time but will be invited to do so.
Staff and faculty will show respect for all students, regardless of race, age, ability, religious or political affiliation or any other preference.
Students’ preferred pronouns will be respected and honored.
Any grievances with students will be addressed with the school director and a mediator and documented for integrity. (see grievance polity below)
Academic Performance Requirements
To receive certification, students must attend 100% of the live contact hours set forth by Yoga Alliance and complete all homework assigned. All quizzes or tests must be passed with 90% or higher. Students can retake any test necessary if they fail to meet these criteria. We do our best to recognize that everyone has their own learning style, degree of experience and learning readiness, and as such, we provide ample opportunity for all students to continue their studies until they fully absorb the material. In the end, it is the student's responsibility to be fully present and ask for support needed.
We recommend students read the essay, "Meeting for Learning" by Parker Palmer to be familiar with our philosophy about how vibrant, enriching learning environments can be achieved.
Student Grievance Procedures
Student and faculty grievances will be addressed as follows:
1. A grievance form will be requested via email to the school at office@yogateachersupport.com
2. Upon submission of the form, an appointment will be scheduled with both parties involved, as well as the school director and a mediator.
3. Once the issue is closed, a formal dismissal form will be filed in the school’s records and will remain on file for 12 months following.
Student Disciplinary Procedures
Students who do not adhere to the conduct or attendance policy will first be addressed in a private meeting with the director. If attendance does not improve, the student will be advised to discontinue the session and return when they are ready and able to be fully present. If behavior is an issue and does not improve despite attempts to correct the situation, the student will be dismissed from the program without refund.

If there is a real emergency, and our schedule allows we may be open to transferring a portion of your tuition to another date or offering.

While there are sure to be many moments of pure joy and inner peace which can be attained in your studies, this is deep spiritual work, and can be challenging.
Nobody said transformation is easy.
We always encourage our students to stay the course, because on the other side of resistance is breakthrough.
